Teams are given rope, tarps and sticks and must construct a shelter that can survive a bucket of water being thrown at them once completed.

Both of our 150m and 550m burma trails lead participants through the bush at night. You’ll get tangled in supplejack and cross a few streams along the way!

River crossings, giant rimus, swimming holes and massive waterfalls, this trail has it all. Te Rereioturu falls is a 40m tall and 20m wide waterfall flowing into the Opuiaki River. The Custodian is available to lead this hike upon request.

30 min walk from the lodge, Ngatuhoa falls is a stunning 3 tiered waterfall about 50m tall. A refreshing swimming hole can be found at the bottom.

15 minutes walk from Te Rereioturo falls, Whio falls is a beautifully wide waterfall with great spots for swimming.

5 hours from the lodge, Waipapa falls is the most Southern waterfall in our area before the Waikato district. 12 meters tall and isolated from any hiking trails, this trail requires a bit of bush bashing.

This trail follows various streams that flow into the Ngatuhoa river. You’ll pass by two waterfalls and be able to walk directly in the river.
